So, How just do you get rapport with someone?

Well, the answer is what I like to call Mirroring!

Mirror how the other person speaks, whether slow or fast – the tone, what their beliefs are – try and agree with what they say.

Match the type of language they use – for instance do they say…

I see what you mean – SEEING

I think I know what you mean – THINKING

I hear what you are saying – HEARING

I feel I know what you mean – FEELING

Something doesn’t taste right – TASTING!

Match your language to the language of the other person, use the same way of speaking.

Here’s a crazy example of how you can use all of the above when publicly speaking!

I feel like you should think this through and see how you feel about it.

If it doesn’t taste right to you then we’ll have to see what we can do about it!
